Fulmer Motorcycle Helmets

Three reasons you should consider Fulmer Motorcycle Helmets as your next lid and three models that will fit any budget.

There's one brand of helmet that I almost always see when I go into a motorcycle accessories dealer's store. That brand is Fulmer. This company has been around for over forty years. The Fulmer Company started as a car seat cover manufacturer in 1919 and sold automotive interior products before marketing their first motorcycle helmets in 1969. That puts them back in the era of the first Honda CB750 Fulmer is still a privately held company as of this writing.

Ok, here are the three reasons to consider Fulmer Motorcycle Helmets:

1. Fulmer wants you to get the best fit.

One of the unique things about Fulmer's marketing plan is that they do not allow mail order or internet sales. Every Fulmer helmet is sold through a legitimate motorcycle accessories dealer. The theory being that you can't get a proper it without actually trying on a helmet.

I can't disagree with that theory. When it comes right down to it, one motorcycle helmet is a lot like the next as far as functionality and safety is concerned thanks in part to D.O.T., Snell and other standards organizations. The difference is the fit and comfort and aesthetics which makes the rider more likely to keep their helmet in the proper place - on their head!

While this seems like a big inconvenience since we're all so used to internet ordering, it has the secondary benefit of keeping traffic in local dealerships. I guess I still have a soft spot for brick-n-mortar dealerships where you can put your hands on and your head in the helmet before buying. Experiences vary though. Some dealers give worse service than online shops in my experience.

2. Fulmer helmets are great for your budget.

If you're looking for cheap motorcycle helmets (as in inexpensive) Fulmer should be at the top of your list.

You can get a top of the line D.O.T. and Snell approved SS with fiberglass shell and "DRI-Lex" liner for between $130 and $140 street price.

They also offer the very good looking AF-S1 which is also Snell approve for just under $100.

3. Fulmer Helmets have innovative graphics.

Check out this cool graphic on the M1 Modus modular helmet. The paint scheme has built-in safety features. During the day you have day-glo orange and at night the white parts of the graphic glow in the dark. You can never be too visible on a motorcycle.

I know I only promised three reasons to consider Fulmer, but I have to throw in a fourth.

The fourth reason to consider Fulmer motorcycle helmets is that the company is based in Memphis TN, which is in my home state. Maybe I'll try and get an audience with one of their spokespersons and get an inside interview in the near future.

There are Fulmer Motorcycle Helmets for every type of rider, from youth dirt helmets to race-ready full face racing helmets.

Get more information about Fulmer helmets at the Fulmer Motorcycle Helmets website and of course your local motorcycle accessories dealer.
